Field Service Power Generation Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated Field Service Power Generation Technician who is able to travel weekly to support operations primarily in Virginia and the Northeast, and surrounding states. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic field environment and can manage administrative responsibilities with precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel weekly to customer sites across the designated region.
  • Perform service tasks, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely expense reports and daily paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and leadership.
  • Represent the AES team with professionalism and technical expertise.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience in service or technical roles preferred.
  • Proficiency in documentation and reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Help train and mentor junior technicians

Preferences include:

  • HV training, and awareness
  • Cummins Factory switchgear training

Responsibilities:

  • In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
  • High Voltage/Low Voltage experience.
  • Advanced experience with electrical repair and maintenance.
  • Proficient Diesel Engine experience.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
  • Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems.
  • Understanding switchgear schematics.
  • Ability to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians/Mechanics.

Qualifications:

  • A current valid license is required for this role.
  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience.
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.
