Mechanic Job Opportunity

As a Mechanic, you will perform vibration analysis, laser alignment, and mechanical services on service calls. You will be responsible for conducting various electrical and mechanical testing, balancing motors of all sizes, and rigging motors in and out of different locations. Your expertise will be utilized in the removal and installation of large motors in industrial settings such as wastewater facilities, power plants, and paper mills. You will be tasked with the complete assembly and disassembly of large motors and must have experience with large turning equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform vibration analysis and laser alignment on service calls.
• Conduct various electrical and mechanical testing.
• Balance in place all size motors.
• Rig motors in and out of different locations.
• Remove and install large motors in industrial settings.
• Complete assembly and disassembly of large motors.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.

Essential Skills:

• Minimum of 4 years experience in industrial mechanical repair.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
• Experience with vibration analysis and laser alignment.
• Excellent driving record.
• Customer service oriented.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends.

Work Environment:

Work within a large industrial machining department, focusing on large equipment. The role requires flexibility to work overtime, including nights and weekends, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
