Job Description

As an Engineering Technician, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced production and R&D environment with a focus on quality and attention to detail. The Engineering Technician will support the engineering design process, lead special projects, serve as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure product quality and validation. This role involves analyzing technical data, providing on-site assistance, developing technical content, and mentoring team members In this role, you will be a part of the Agile Development Group which is a division that specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

Essential Functions

  • Performs all duties required to assist with the acceptance testing of various products and subassemblies.
  • Run automated and manual test scripts for acceptance testing, software/firmware loading, and sensor calibration.
  • Operate custom and off-the-shelf equipment including network analyzers, power meters, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, etc.
  • Identify, document, and perform basic troubleshooting on non-conforming product.
  • Recommends updates for existing processes and reviews test documentation in support of engineering.
  • Verifies quality of tested product. Interprets test results to validate compliance with drawing and other specified requirements.
  • Identifies and corrects conditions that affect employee safety; upholding corporate safety standards.
  • Work in a team setting collaborating with manufacturing, planning and engineering.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying 25-50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Walking, bending, sitting, standing, climbing, and reaching for prolonged periods of time on a regular basis.
  • Ability to seize, grasp, turn, hold, and operate manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises.
  • Willingness and ability to comply with all applicable PPE requirements (respirators, safety glasses, gloves, etc.)

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Ability to obtain US Government security clearance. Preferred Additional Skills: Active DoD Secret Clearance preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Experience with C++, C#, Python, Java, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Test Stand Experience in electronics assembly, with a focus on harness assembly Experience in Factory Acceptance testing of aerospace system or other industries Proficient in soldering, crimping, and using hand tools for assembly Proficient in using testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification preferred J-STD-001 certification preferred Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and interconnect diagrams Excellent people skills to include working in a diverse, and dynamic team environment Excellent communication skills to include working in a diverse and dynamic team environment Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success Active Secret clearance is desired but not required Experience working in an environment that implements ESD and FOD controls Knowledge and understanding of product quality processes
