As an Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology in Manassas, VA (MTV), you will have ownership for 300mm equipment in a high-tech manufacturing line. Typical duties include utilizing available automation systems to achieve high volume manufacturing, supporting new tool installations, optimizing process and tool operating conditions, minimizing human and machine induced errors, implementing statistical process control systems, and innovating other engineering solutions to eliminate risk and maximize sensitivity of measurements. You will work with other engineering areas to resolve various integration and defect related issues, lead actions outside areas of direct responsibility as required to resolve broader issues, lead interaction with vendor groups to drive support, improvement and demonstration activities, and develop process and procedural improvements, as well as provide detailed documentation and training to shift personnel as required. You will also identify opportunities for productivity enhancements and equipment optimization to improve product quality and reduce system cost of ownership. Must be detail oriented and data driven in order to track equipment performance, develop pareto analysis of tool issues and lead vendor support through documented continuous improvement project (CIP) commitments. You possess sound methodology for organizing work, setting priorities and building a work plan. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You have strong collaboration skills to help inspire good teamwork among colleagues and vendor counterparts. You have sound troubleshooting skills and fluency to work on equipment related issues. You are safety conscious, conform to all Micron safety policies, and able to identify potential hazards prior to working on a piece of equipment. You are willing to spend a significant amount of time in the fab in a cleanroom environment. You are willing to take full ownership and responsibility of a workstation, and aim to be the global benchmark. You have deep understanding of the facilities systems which support the tools, including hazardous production material (HPM), gas valve manifold boxes (VMBs), pumps and scrubbers, etc. You will lead efforts to reduce costs in the area, and will need to demonstrate initiative, innovation and perseverance in setting up a cost reduction strategy through vendor or second-source CIP activities, redesigns, procedure modifications, etc. Must meet engineer eligibility through relevant education and/or equivalent experience.
