Building Engineer

This position supports the Assistant and/or Chief Engineer and Facilities Manager in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. The Building Engineer will perform routine operations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems to ensure efficient operation and longevity.

Responsibilities

Perform routine operations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. Ensure the effective operation of the facility by maintaining HVAC, boiler, heating, refrigeration, water, and energy systems. Maintain equipment in an energy-efficient and safe manner, reducing downtime by anticipating necessary repairs. Conduct inspections and repairs on property interiors and exteriors, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.

Essential Skills

5+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance/engineering. Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, troubleshooting, and facilities maintenance. Experience in face-to-face/client-facing interactions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with overall building maintenance.

Work Environment

The position requires working onsite at various properties managed by the company, with a schedule from 10am-7:30pm and two Saturdays a month. Saturday shifts may vary depending on vendor scheduling.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
