About The Position: The Support Enforcement Specialist Senior with the Division of Child Support Enforcement Newport News District Office serves as lead program agent on assigned child support case management team. Engaging families for success so that they have the financial and family support they need to grow and thrive. The Support Enforcement Specialist Senior managing most complex cases of child support obligations and health care coverage in functional areas such as Locate, Establishment, Court, Enforcement, Interstate, and Review & Adjustment; or, supporting a team of Specialists who are assigned those cases. May train, orient, cross-train, retrain Specialists in procedures to determine, assess and modify obligations, ensuring compliance of child support and/or medical support orders and apply a number of administrative and judicial actions. May provide testimony in court proceedings when required. May complete compliance reviews within own and other district offices. Draws on extensive knowledge of a range of case management processes to ensure compliance, influence non-custodial parents and support custodial parents and their children and will provide direct support to the Division of Child Support Enforcement.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have demonstrated: • Skill in information collection through interviewing and obtaining/ reviewing records, documents and reports and the ability to analyze and determine the appropriate action in order to achieve results. • Experience analyzing work processes to develop and deliver training to improve processes and results. • Ability to interact with a diverse public in a service setting to tactfully solve problems, sometimes in difficult situations where conflict is encountered. • Works in a considerate and respectful way as a team member to set, clarify and achieve team goals. • Ability to give guidance to others that promotes teamwork, improving member contributions and team results. • Skill in effective oral and written communication. • Ability to work independently: plan, organize, and handle multiple priorities in a case management/caseload setting. • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and/or procedures to ensure compliance and produce outcomes and results.

Additional Considerations

• Comprehensive knowledge of child support enforcement. • Experience in case management or gathering and organizing client documentation to process financial transactions or maintain case activities. • Experience in child support enforcement. • Knowledge of and/or experience in legal processes, to include preparing legal documents and providing court testimony.
