This position serves as the first point of contact in the advising suite and provides central administrative support for many aspects of the programs in ADS and its student-related functions, ensuring that faculty, staff, and students receive timely assistance. Responsibilities include coordinating catalog and syllabus updates, entering and updating timetable and teaching load information each semester, supporting enrollment management, preparing reports related to departmental teaching and student data, processing force-add requests and grade changes for programs in ADS, and assisting with program and departmental events.
Additional duties include supporting day-to-day program operations and shared administrative functions as needed. The successful candidate must be adaptable and flexible and willing to pitch in and help when and where needed.
Demonstrated experience in a professional office environment
Experience with computers and computer software such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and Adobe Acrobat
Evidence of excellent and professional interpersonal and communication skills while working with a diverse clientele
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to set priorities and work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to stay focused and work courteously and professionally with frequent interruptions

Experience with Banner, Navigate and Virginia Tech Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS).
