General Information:
JMU's School Of Professional & Continuing Education (SPCE) fosters learning across lifespans through transformative education and enrichment. SPCE offers a range of programs, including youth camps, adult degree completion, professional and workforce development, and lifelong learning, as well as partners with academic units across JMU to support a number of online or off-campus degree and certificate programs. This part-time role supports both the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) and Youth Programs within SPCE. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of programmatic, logistical, and administrative tasks to ensure the success of events, courses, and activities across both programs.
Duties And Responsibilities:
LLI serves older adults, ages 55+, with courses, trips, lectures, and social events that encourage seniors to continue learning, expanding their horizons, and building relationships. Youth Programs offers a variety of camps, events, and activities for K-12 students, to help them explore interests, connect with others, and share experiences on a college campus. This part-time role supports both areas; LLI primarily operates during the fall and spring, and the majority of Youth Programs events happen over the summer, but there will be overlap throughout the year as needed. Required Qualifications: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Experience using marketing and communications tools (such as MarketingCloud, Canva, Cascade) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently and as part of a team Customer service experience, especially with a variety of populations including youth, parents, and seniors.

Conditions Of Employment: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check. This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
