Reporting to the Payroll Operations Supervisor, this position provides entry-level technical service and support in one or more functional areas of payroll and human resource management. This role will work cross-functionally within the department to support the payroll process through identified policies and procedures and will remain informed on all payroll projects and updates as directed by the Payroll Manager or Supervisor and Department of Accounts.
The position requires knowledge of basic math, professional phone and email etiquette, standard business communications, computer systems, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office programs. It also necessitates a basic understanding of payroll and human resource principles. Skills include retrieving and manipulating data via online access in database files through various software applications, analytical and critical thinking, strong verbal communication, writing, proofreading/editing, strong customer service, computer expertise with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and excellent attention to detail. Abilities include organizing and managing workflow to ensure payroll tasks are processed accurately and timely, dealing sensitively with confidential information, working independently as well as a team member, working flexible hours as needed, working in a fast-paced environment with multiple customers and priorities, and working effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

Minimum qualifications include previous experience handling multiple administrative tasks/assignments at one time, customer service experience, functional knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems, experience with MS Office, especially Excel, and experience handling and reporting large volumes of data with accuracy.
