Outreach And Professional Affairs Support - Health Administration

The College Of Health Professions Department Of Health Administration Is Seeking A Well-Connected, Highly-Qualified Candidate To Facilitate External Stakeholder Relationship Management During Ongoing Leadership Transition In The Department Of Health Administration. This Is A Limited-Appointment Position Only For The 2025 - 2026 Academic Year.

Responsibilities:

• Support leadership transition in the Department of Health Administration.
• Identify key external stakeholders and foster introductions/connections with department leaders (Interim Chair, Dir. of Outreach & Industry Relations).
• Provide high level training, contextual information, and support for department faculty and staff leaders onboarding in new roles during AY25-26.
• Support external communications efforts: consult on nominations for high-level external awards, identify topics/subjects for inclusion in featured articles (university, college and department level), liaise between external stakeholders and internal team members in service of aforementioned efforts as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

• 20+ years of experience in external relations in academic health administration space.
• Extensive network and exceptional skill in fostering connection and building professional relationships.
• Deep knowledge base related to industry, department history and context, key stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an hourly employee at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with the VCU Department of Health Administration.
