Neuropsychologist

The Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia seeks doctoral neuropsychology applicants for an Assistant Professor position. The incumbent will devote a majority of effort to clinical responsibilities for persons with neurological illness and neurodegenerative diseases in the Memory and Aging Care and Movement Disorders Clinics. The selected candidate will also dedicate effort to scholarship, training and contribute to an active, clinical trials research program in dementia. The successful applicant should enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team and aid in the training of postdoctoral fellows in our APPCN fellowship program. The University of Virginia and affiliated UVAHealth form the premier institution for medical research and clinical care in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The faculty member will be welcomed into the highly collaborative environment of the University of Virginia and have ready access to several research-oriented schools and centers across the University of Virginia grounds, which provide a rich platform for shared discovery. The University of Virginia is located east of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, just 30 minutes from Shenandoah National Park and 100 miles south of Washington DC. Qualifications: Candidates must have earned a PhD in Psychology or a PsyD and be licensed or license-eligible in Virginia by the start date of the appointment. Strong consideration will be given to individuals who are board certified in clinical neuropsychology through ABPP or who are in the process of becoming boarded. While primarily clinical, a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research excellence is desired.
