Human Resources Customer Service Assistant

The George Mason University Human Resources (HR) Office is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to serve as a non-student, part-time Customer Service Assistant. Applicants should be available for schedules from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Please Note: Due to the nature of the confidential information this position works with, current Mason students CANNOT be considered for this position.

Responsibilities: This position will provide courteous and professional customer service, in a busy front office environment, to the diverse and multicultural community of George Mason University visitors and staff. Other responsibilities include data entry and records management to support the New Employee Welcome Center.

Required Qualifications: Applicants should desire to work in a team environment where priorities change rapidly and customer service and effective communication are considered essential. The selected candidate must have superior communication and customer service skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, ability to multitask and problem-solve, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to collaborate and communicate with diverse individuals with differing needs. Previous receptionist or customer service experience; data entry; experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, e-mail and web navigation; and use of Web applications are all required competencies.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in an HR or university environment is strongly desired; as well as experience in a high-volume, fast-paced office environment.
