Job Duties

The Talent Acquisition Team Lead provides leadership and operational oversight for the Department of Corrections' Talent Acquisition Team within the Human Resources and Staff Development Unit. The incumbent is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the recruitment functions across the Department of Corrections. The incumbent will ensure all recruitment practices comply with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and DHRM standards. The Team Lead oversees daily workflows, assigns and monitors workloads, and supervises staff to ensure timely, compliant, and effective recruitment outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Progressive professional experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or Human Resources. Demonstrated extensive knowledge of recruitment and retention operations. Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations. Proven ability to supervise staff, manage workloads, and meet operational deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to provide effective customer service and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Ability to develop and implement recruitment plans and operational action plans. Ability to analyze recruitment data, track key metrics, and report outcomes. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple recruitment actions simultaneously. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others in a team environment.

Additional Considerations

Experience and proficiency working with the Commonwealth's PageUp Recruitment Management system. Experience managing recruitment programs, working with hiring managers, and handling high-volume or specialized recruitment efforts. Experience directly supervising a talent acquisition team in a large or complex organization, providing coaching, counseling and mentoring others. Prior supervisory or team lead experience in HR or talent acquisition, including coaching recruiters. Certification in HR such as CP, SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
