We're seeking a Human Resources professional who is not only detail-driven but also a fast learner ready to support and enhance our HR operations. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring smooth HR workflows, maintaining compliance, and delivering exceptional service to employees and leadership alike. This position is eligible for local government salary supplement bringing the hiring maximum salary up to $100,500/year to commensurate with relevant experience.
Alexandria Health Department (AHD) is one of 35 health districts in Virginia. The HR Analyst independently performs HR functions including ER, Recruitment, Compensation, Benefits, and Transactions by performing analysis of trends, data, and jobs; interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and regulations; and providing consultation in support of a district or office. Incumbent addresses all actions associated with recruitment, selection, pay determination, documentation, benefits administration, FLSA, classification, and performance management. Prepares and submits personnel transactions and associated paperwork for review by the manager in the personnel tracking system. Responds to FOIA inquiries, provides outplacement assistance to staff, makes recommendations, and implement district or office processes. Tracks the development and maintenance of Employee Work Profiles, performance actions, and grievances. Develops district training plan & needs assessment. May conduct HR training & orientation for employees with pre-established training and orientation materials. May support onboarding processes for contractors or serve as a liaison between the contracting agency and contractor for onboarding processes.
