NVMHI is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and highly motivated team player to provide administrative support to the Department of Psychology and Forensic Services and other departments and projects as assigned. Duties include office management: appointment and calendar management, responding to phone and email inquiries, preparing for meetings and taking minutes, coordinating rooms for meetings and training, drafting correspondence, completing travel requests, and maintaining office supplies. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining identified databases as well as generating data-based reports. This position will also be responsible for coordinating civil commitment hearings, including liaising with court personnel, managing related legal paperwork, accompanying patients to and from hearings, attending hearings, and communicating hearing results. The incumbent will also provide secondary coverage for the administrative functions of the Forensic Services Liaison and Pre-Trial Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills. They must be organized, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, analyze problems, think critically, create methods for completing complex tasks, work independently and as a team member.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Significant prior administrative assistant/secretarial experience required. Extensive experience in MS Office to include Word and Excel required.
Additional Considerations:
• Administrative experience in a Health and Human Services field, with significant exposure to consumers, official agents, inspectors and government officials strongly preferred. • Prior experience with data entry and management preferred. • Graduation from college or university with course work in public administration or related field preferred.
