Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Position (Tenure-track)

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty member. Preference is at the assistant professor level but qualified applicants at the associate professor level will be considered. The department is seeking a candidate to teach existing courses in fundamental areas of electrical engineering and to create upper-division electives of relevance to the students and the profession. The department will consider all qualified candidates; however, preference will be given to candidates who can enhance the departmental electrical engineering capabilities in areas such as, but not limited to, high-frequency engineering and power engineering. The appointment will begin January 1, 2026, or August 1, 2026, depending on the availability of the selected candidate.

In order to be considered for this position, a candidate must have a doctoral degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, and must have a strong dedication to undergraduate education. The department is seeking a candidate to teach existing courses in fundamental areas of electrical engineering and to create upper-division electives of relevance to the students and the profession.

The department will consider all qualified candidates; however, preference will be given to candidates who can enhance the departmental electrical engineering capabilities in areas such as, but not limited to, high-frequency engineering and power engineering.

Applications must include a cover letter, current CV and a statement that clearly addresses the candidate's potential contributions to the department within the defined Institute domains of teaching, scholarly engagement, professional citizenship, and student development. Finalists for the position will be asked to provide three letters of reference.
