Coordinator Of Testing Services

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is seeking a Coordinator of Testing Services to serve as the primary contact for campus testing services and will ensure consistent testing procedures through the secure, efficient, and equitable administration of academic, admissions, and standardized testing services that promote student success, uphold academic integrity, and align with institutional, state, and national standards. Under the direction of the Dean of Students, the Coordinator provides strategic leadership and daily operational oversight for Testing Services located at both the Parham Road and Downtown campuses. This includes:

  • Supervise staff, managing workflow, and maintaining compliance with college policies, state requirements, and testing agency protocols.
  • Coordinate a comprehensive array of testing services, including curriculum placement exams, health professions admissions testing, accommodated testing under ADA guidelines, make-up exams, contracted assessments, and professional proctoring services.
  • Serve as a central liaison among students, faculty, staff, and external testing partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Test Administration Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of academic and standardized testing procedures, including placement exams, accommodated testing, certification assessments, and instructor-based exams.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Working knowledge of FERPA, ADA, and national testing agency standards (e.g., ACCUPLACER, College Board); ability to enforce testing integrity and security protocols.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple testing formats and schedules simultaneously, with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Supervisory and Leadership Abilities: Experience in training, scheduling, and supervising testing staff or proctors; capable of managing a high-functioning team in a student service environment.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, faculty, and staff; skilled in resolving conflicts professionally.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with testing software platforms, scheduling systems, and student information systems (e.g., Banner, Canvas, or similar). Ability to analyze data and produce reports related to testing services usage, compliance, and performance.
  • Problem-Solving and Initiative: Ability to respond calmly to unexpected issues and identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance the testing experience.

Additional Considerations: Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in testing services and experience in test administration, prior supervisory experience desirable.
