Consultant Finance Decision Support

The Consultant, Decision Support, provides advanced analytical and technical expertise to support UVA Health's Decision Support team, with deep knowledge of financial data, systems, and reporting tools. Partners closely with Finance, Accounting, and Operational leaders to achieve strategic goals, ensuring system accuracy, data integrity, and actionable insights. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and enhance complex financial models in Anaplan, including modeling, logic, formulas, and process design.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system/process issues, ensuring smooth month-end operations and ongoing data integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvement in workflows, reporting processes, and performance measurement.
  • Lead and document cross-functional project workstreams, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support cost accounting, benchmarking, and survey initiatives as needed.
  • Manage training resources and maintain the Decision Support TEAMS site.
  • Plan and lead work independently, managing multiple priorities with a strong service mindset.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hands-on Anaplan build experience.
  • Healthcare experience, including system configuration in a healthcare setting or consulting for healthcare organizations.
  • Identifies and implements solutions that meet institutional goals and support financial strategies.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for a finance data solution or one or more areas of deep technical expertise (e.g. cost accounting, finance systems, budget, benchmarking and surveys).
  • Willingly adapts to organizational change and models commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Supports the development and delivery of professional presentations.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position compensation range: $81,078.40 - $129,729.60 annual.

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: 5 years relevant experience.
  • Licensure: None required.
  • Physical demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
