2nd Shift Custodial Services Worker

Reporting to the Assistant Manager of 2nd & 3rd Shift Custodial Services, incumbent provides custodial services to assure a clean, sanitary and safe environment in assigned facilities. Responsible for meeting high standards of custodial organization in offices, meeting rooms, public areas, bathrooms and other areas within the facilities. Duties include floor maintenance, dusting, gathering and removal of trash, and snow and ice removal from entrance ways and sidewalks. Reports needed equipment and building repair and any unsafe or unusual custodial situations. Responsible for the care and handling of custodial supplies, equipment and assigned keys. Occasionally assists with the preparation of regularly scheduled events. Designated Emergency Personnel requires employees to report to work during emergency situations and closings.

Experience working with the public and/or customer service experience. Knowledge of cleaning methods| Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and work independently. Must be able to walk and stand extensively; climb stairs; safely move or handle up to 35 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach (including reaching above the head to dust), push/pull, perform repetitive motion, twist, and shovel snow. Must be able to safely and efficiently operate electrically powered and manual cleaning equipment.

Custodial/cleaning experience in an institutional, or commercial cleaning environment (such as hospitality (hotel/motel), commercial cleaning company, manufacturing, health care facilities, etc.) Custodial/cleaning experience working in an educational environment (such as universities/college, school systems, etc.) Previous experience operating professional cleaning equipment.

Must be able to walk and stand extensively; climb and work on stairs; safely move or handle up to 35 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach (including reaching above the head to dust), push/pull, perform repetitive motion, twist, and shovel snow. Must be able to safely and efficiently operate electrically powered and manual cleaning equipment. Must have an acceptable and safe driving record. Must have a driver's license check. Essential personnel facilities related. Essential personnel weather related. Normal work hours are 2:00 - 10:30pm, but work hours may vary to meet management and customer needs. Must have the ability to work independently. May work around large numbers of people especially during class change and special events. Must have a valid driver's license. May be assigned to work in different buildings to meet department needs. The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
