Youth Services Support Worker (State Contract)
Join a mission-driven team supporting youth in state custody through partnership with the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS). This role is centered around relationship-building, consistency, and positive influence. You will support youth who have experienced challenges and transitions by providing structure, guidance, and encouragement as they develop confidence, stability, and independent living skills.
We are seeking individuals who lead with patience, empathy, and accountability, and those who understand that behavior is often communication and that consistency builds trust.
Non-Negotiable Requirements (Read Before Applying)
To be considered, all candidates must complete and/or submit the following:
- Updated resume including full work history and all employment gaps explained
- BLS Certification (AHA preferred) – current card
- CPI Certification (Crisis Prevention Intervention – Blue Card) or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of current auto insurance meeting state minimum requirements with candidate listed as an insured driver
- Skills checklist (sent by recruiter – must be completed)
- Professional reference checks (2) (sent by recruiter – must be completed)
- MACWIS Form Completion (sent by recruiter) required for Mississippi Child Abuse & Neglect Central Registry Check

Schedule & Shift Expectations
- PRN needs/availability
- 12-hour shifts
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Day and night flexibility needed
This role requires flexibility to ensure around the clock coverage and supervision for the assigned youth.

- Build trusting, appropriate relationships with youth
- Provide daily structure and consistency
- Model healthy communication and behavior
- Support development of independent living skills
- Work alongside MDCPS to progress positive outcomes for each youth

Attendance & Reliability Expectations
- No gaps in coverage are permitted
- Must arrive on time and prepared for handoff
- Last-minute call-ins are not acceptable
- Only apply if you can reliably fulfill your schedule
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience in: youth services, behavioral health, CNA/sitter roles, corrections or related field (preferred)
- Must pass: background checks (including NCIC), drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation
