The Engineering Manager leads and develops manufacturing and project engineers to improve how work gets done across Victaulic operations. This role drives safer, more efficient, and more scalable fabrication and assembly processes by partnering closely with Operations, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance teams. The Engineering Manager owns engineering standards, capital projects, and continuous improvement efforts—turning complex manufacturing challenges into practical, repeatable solutions that support production, growth, and long-term reliability.
Supervise, mentor, and develop project and manufacturing engineers across multiple facilities.
Establish consistent engineering expectations, performance standards, and development plans.
Oversee engineering projects from concept through completion, including new equipment purchases, facility construction, and expansions.
Develop, standardize, and continuously improve fabrication and assembly processes (including cutting, forming, welding, and material handling) to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
Identify waste, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies; implement Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies to improve throughput and reduce costs.
Evaluate equipment needs and support capital justification, selection, and implementation of new machinery and automation.
Drive improvements in takt time, labor utilization, workflow layouts, and production planning methods.
Ensure all engineering projects and facilities comply with environmental and safety requirements.
Develop and manage capital budgets across multiple facilities.
Prepare and present regular project and facility status reports.
Partner daily with operations, quality, and safety teams to support production efficiency.
Lead preventive maintenance engineering efforts and partner with maintenance teams on equipment reliability initiatives.
Develop solutions to complex engineering challenges requiring independent judgment, creativity, and adaptation of standards for plant layout, design, and construction.
Analyze and resolve root causes of manufacturing issues.
Provide technical product support as needed, assisting project coordination, engineered products, and sales teams.
Adhere to all company safety rules, regulations, and policies.
Attend all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
B.S. in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or other solid modeling software.
Demonstrated strength in process improvement, metric development, and problem-solving.
Familiarity with a broad range of machinery, automation, mechanical equipment, and construction methods is preferred.
General knowledge of steel fabrication processes (welding, CNC milling, facing, etc.) is preferred.
Strong understanding of advanced engineering principles and solid mathematical aptitude is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Willingness to take on a wide variety of assignments, including intermittent travel up to 20%.
