The Senior Manager of Plant Operations is responsible for the overall management of production within the plant site. Successful management of production areas will be accomplished through active involvement and development of work teams, appropriate coaching and feedback, effective resource utilization, and visible team leadership. This leadership role includes day to day operations through Team Leaders, as well as continuous improvement processes and programs through Area Leaders. This role is also a vital part of the site's senior leadership team and must be capable of navigating complex challenges with a solutions focused approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous improvement for plant processes, asset utilization, and operation efficiency
  • Drive improvement in team performance through effective communications to all levels of the Operational team
  • Foster and develop productive partnerships with Engineering, EHS, HR, and Quality Systems departments
  • Effectively manage employee relations and performance management issues in coordination with Human Resources
  • Provide leadership necessary for the development of salaried and non-exempt salaried employees in an effort to create a well-trained, highly motivated workforce
  • Implement the standards of Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R) within the teams, with focused emphasis in regards to People Capability, Visual Workplace, Autonomous Maintenance and Continuous Improvement
  • Ownership of total labor costs in an effort to achieve site specific cost savings targets through our fund the growth initiative (FTG)
  • Support implementation of Quality Assurance and Food Safety initiatives. Ensure personnel adhere to Hill's policies, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices, including Quality Assurance and Food Safety
  • Champion Environmental Health Safety (EHS) initiatives
