Project Overview: The Knoxville Engineering Office is the engineering execution center for Bechtel's Nuclear, Security, & Environmental business line, providing engineering design development and support to multiple large complex projects. Projects executed out of this office are primarily large government works throughout various sectors, including DOD and DOE.
This position is for a Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer who will work on various projects as part of the Mechanical Engineering/HVAC team. The projects that will be assigned involve government work through various sectors, including DOD and DOE. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving skills, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. In this role, you will design and develop HVAC and Mechanical systems for project(s) by preparing studies, mechanical drawings, calculations, material requisitions, engineering specifications, equipment data sheets, evaluation, and more in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. The engineer will work with other mechanical engineers, other disciplines/functions, and/or the client. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's mechanical aspects are met. This role will be based in Knoxville, TN with periodic business travel, as required.
