Quality Engineer - Aerospace - Camarillo, CA
Eaton's IS AER ITD Aerospace Interconnect division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer - Aerospace. The expected annual salary range for this role is $77,625.0 - $89,000 a year. What you'll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Aerospace Quality Engineer ensures that products and processes meet aerospace industry standards and customer requirements. This role involves developing quality assurance plans, conducting audits, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain compliance with AS9100, FAA regulations, and customer specifications.
* This QE role requires working on-site M-F at our Camarillo, CA facility. Relocation is not available for this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and inspection plans.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
- Conduct internal and supplier audits, lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and change orders for quality impact.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain and analyze quality metrics; report trends and recommend improvements.
- Support First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 standards.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
- Develop, communicate, or train, and ensure adherence to quality standards, product specifications, work instructions and procedures across a multifunctional manufacturing organization.
- Lead and/or provide technical advice and feedback to the Engineering & program management teams assigned to continuous improvement and problem solving.
- Evaluate, communicate, and rectify in-process rejections, obtain disposition and implement containment, corrective and preventative action to ensure product performance and specification attainment.
- Communicate quality issues to Integrated Product Team (IPT), front line leaders and factory personnel and lead root cause and permanent corrective action documentation.
- Work with Design Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure that quality criteria are identified on all newly established parts, and quality requirements are communicated to suppliers.
- Responsible for generating End Item Data Package (EIDP) that meets customer requirements for each shipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors of Engineering degree from accredited institution or 15+ years of equivalent experience.
- 1+ years experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment or equivalent internship experience with completed engineering degree.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with AS9100 Quality System or ISO9000 and product/process auditing techniques.
- Detailed knowledge of Aerospace product, manufacturing processes and inspection techniques.
- Experience in aerospace products and applications.
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Experience in Quality Management System Requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities; results driven.
- Process-oriented and ability contribute to continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.

- Position requires interaction with customers, customer representatives, auditors, regulatory agencies, and all internal departments/functions/levels.
- Limited travel may be required (<10%).
