Job Description The Mechanic B will pursue a career path qualifying as a Mechanic A. They perform electrical or mechanical maintenance type work on power plant components and equipment. As a Mechanic B (Mechanical) they work on mechanical equipment in maintaining, repairing and installing power piping systems, associated valves, tanks and vessels and various types of rotating mechanical equipment such as fans, blowers, pumps, motors, etc. using various field power tools and precision measuring equipment and have a working knowledge in the following areas: confined space entry, basic pumps, coupling alignment, bearing maintenance, pipe fitting, oxy-acetylene torch cutting, rigging, scaffolding, mechanical drawing, boiler tube repair, math and industrial safety, machine shop, conduit bending, basic electricity, scaffolding, skyclimber/hanging platforms, crane operation and welding (GTAW, SMAW). As a Mechanic B (Electrical) they work on the electrical equipment to install, repair and maintain utility electrical equipment, read schematic drawings and engineering prints using testing devices to troubleshoot problems within electrical components, circuits or equipment.

Core Responsibilities Mechanics perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on all plant mechanical components including boilers, turbines, pumps, piping, valves, and other plant components. Knowledge and skill are required in, but not limited to, the use of hand and power tools and the application of safe work practices. Being able to perform standard maintenance functions and safe construction work practices in compliance with environmental policies and procedures. Candidates must also have the ability to advance through career path training and present a positive image for the company. Must ensure that the Human Performance Improvement (HPI) tools are incorporated into daily work activities.
