Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Tech at our El Paso, TX location! The core hours are 7:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. What you'll do: The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support Manufacturing Engineer by helping to drive continuous improvement in the assembly operations. This position will assist in the conceptualization and execution of capital projects and development of manufacturing methods and processes. The position will support operations, and capital assets (equipment, machinery, building, etc.). In this function, you will:
- Provide support to the floor issues with respect to assembly, feeding, and testing areas.
- Acts as a liaison between different support functions including production floor follow-up, set-up reduction, Kaizen events, and new product introduction.
- You will assist in the determination of manufacturing methods, machinery or capacity to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders consistent with overall plant objectives.
- You will confer with engineering and production personnel on design changes and new product development programs.
- You will evaluate and implement the operation of new and existing machinery, tooling and other equipment.
- You will conduct time/motion studies to evaluate manufacturing capacities, costs, work cell layouts, and optimize manufacturing efficiencies.
- You will provide support to Eaton Lean Systems, Eaton Quality Systems, MESH and Pro Launch to achieve and maintain required levels of certification and performance.
- You will support plant process changes via the Change Management Process.
- You will generate, investigate, evaluate and implement cost improvement ideas and opportunities.
- You will gather data, information, time studies, and general process knowledge to help determine the best utilization of equipment, facilities, material flow and personnel.
- Contributes in the procurement and start-up of new capital equipment (including ROI) for acquisition of equipment to support developing and existing projects as required.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution
- Minimum TWO years of manufacturing experience OR a degree in a technical discipline

- Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of El Paso, TX will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Written and oral fluency in English and Spanish.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, understanding of basic CAD and drafting principles
- Ability in the use of engineering and productivity tools (CAD software, Office suite and AS400)
- Understanding of electrical/electronic systems.
- Experience and knowledge of tools, common applications, and devices (hand tools, multimeters, measurements devices, etc.)
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees, manage vendors, contractors, etc.
- Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize daily tasks.
- Attention to detail to ensure all jobs are completed in a proper manner and look for any potential hazards or warning signs.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality tools (e.g. Kaizen, time study, VSM, PFMEA, problem solving tools) and safety management tools.
- Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, including tooling, fixtures, and processes.
