Senior Electrical Engineer

Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Raleigh, NC. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only. Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division designs, manufactures, and services Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, surge protection devices (SPD), batteries, power distribution, monitoring/metering equipment and three phase electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in the most demanding applications. Our employees deliver mission-critical solutions to our customers' most challenging energy management requirements.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will participate in project teams focused on designing products such as Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, surge protection devices (SPD), batteries, power distribution, monitoring/metering equipment and three phase electronic-based products. This role involves contributing to product expansion projects, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects, and cost-out initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and innovative solutions.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

  • Develop electrical aspects of power distribution & monitoring products, per approved engineering specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with overall manufacturing processes
  • Develop and maintain documentation and schematics for electrical systems
  • Plan and test for Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) certification of new and existing products
  • Communicate and support engineering team, designers, and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
  • Prepare cost reduction proposals for new and existing products based on cost trades, design improvements and Value-Added Value Engineering (VAVE) process
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of design concepts, tool drawings and shop orders in coordination with the Quality Assurance and Manufacturing functions
  • Partner with manufacturing team early in the design process to ensure solutions are optimized for manufacturability, efficiency, and scalability
