Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

You will be the Supplier Quality Engineer Senior for the Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) team, supporting the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Program. Our team is responsible for ensuring the quality of products delivered to customers, and you will play a critical role in achieving this goal. As the Supplier Quality Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for reviewing documentation, supporting integrated product teams, and analyzing process issues to ensure quality products are delivered. You will work closely with suppliers, production teams, and program personnel to drive continuous improvement and resolve quality-related issues. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes
  • Supporting product testing at suppliers
  • Analyzing and resolving process issues
  • Leading program part reviews and Failure Review Board meetings
  • Participating in assessments and audits to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
  • Interfacing with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality-related issues

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • STEM degree at the Bachelors level or above, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • Quality engineering experience developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products
  • In depth knowledge and experience in Quality processes and procedures
  • Able to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test, inspection methods and work instructions
  • Failure Review Board experience for troubleshooting failures and identifying resolutions including for electrical testing
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools
  • Experience in disposition of non-conforming products
  • Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Effective strong communication skills, written, oral, listening, technical writing
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration
  • Ability to effectively interact with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Technical Operations, Manufacturing, Government Representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 25%
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (after hours or weekends when needed)

Desired Skills:

  • Apriso and SAP Application experience
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Six Sigma Cert./Training
  • Special Process Engineering experience
  • Drawing review experience
  • Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements or PPAP
  • AS9100 interpretation and application experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems such as International (ISO) and aerospace (AS)
  • Electrical Engineering experience with knowledge and understanding of electrical schematics
  • Experience working with Government customers and suppliers
  • Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement
  • Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques
  • Experience developing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products
  • Earned Value Management System Cost Account Manager (EVMS CAM) certification

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
