Social Worker Iat (On Call - Child Protective Services)
The Robeson County Department of Social Services has a job vacancy for Social Worker Iat (On Call - Child Protective Services). This position is available for two positions. The salary is $60,883.55 and the closing date is November 21, 2025.
Example of Duties:
- Under limited supervision, performs services in serious and complicated cases with demonstrated effectiveness based on sufficient training and experience.
- Investigates alleged neglect and abuse, substantiates the alleged neglect or abuse as prescribed by federal and state guidelines.
- Provides expert testimony in court hearings.
- Follows up with case management and preventive services for clients.
- Presents case studies at team staffing for their use in reaching decisions as to indicated medical, correction, or psychiatric treatment.
- Makes recommendations.
- Coordinates with teachers, lawyers, law enforcement officers, physicians, and representatives of other disciplines who are concerned with the same clients.
Social workers' regular work hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 8:15 a.m. Social workers are responsible for handling all emergencies that occur after working hours. The social worker will respond to after hour requests made by supervisors. The worker will rotate with one other after hour position with the rotation as follows: one week of on-call duties and then one week off. The rotation may vary during circumstances of vacancies or other required duties.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Masters degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or
- Bachelors degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or
- Masters degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or
- A four-year degree in a human services field or related curriculum and three years of social work or counseling experience; or
- Graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling, or a related human service field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Valid North Carolina driver's license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver's license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state. Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants.
