The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust visibility into system health and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement OpenTelemetry-based tracing and metrics across distributed microservices and APIs.
  • Configure and optimize Prometheus for metrics collection, alerting, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor containerized workloads on AKS and analyze resource usage for performance improvements.
  • Integrate logs and observability data into Splunk; create dashboards and alerts for operational monitoring.
  • Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to improve monitoring coverage and troubleshoot issues.
  • Support incident response and root cause analysis with observability insights.

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
  • Strong knowledge of Prometheus setup and alerting.
  • Proficiency in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container orchestration.
  • Experience with Splunk for log aggregation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with observability best practices (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets).
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Helm).
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to cloud-native monitoring tools and performance optimization.
  • Experience in troubleshooting distributed systems.

Experience Required:

  • 5–8 years in observability, monitoring, or related engineering roles.
