New England Regional Team Leader-Transportation Services Group

The Transportation Services Group (TSG) has an immediate need for a regional team leader for the New England (CT, MA, NH, NY) transportation design team. The candidate must be based in either Boston, MA, Hartford, CT, or the Manchester, NH offices of CDM Smith. Responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Supporting employees' career journey
  • Communicating, integrating, connecting, and engaging with team members
  • Actively participating in team members' career paths
  • Selecting a suitable mentor for employees as part of the structured mentoring program
  • Celebrating team members at important milestones
  • Conducting timely and authentic annual performance appraisals
  • Leveraging and applying intellectual property
  • Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new employees
  • Delivering a legendary client experience
  • Instilling a sense of personal ownership for work product quality
  • Coordinating workload within the technical services group
  • Approving time sheets and expense reports
  • Ensuring team members complete all required training
  • Ensuring team members are compliant with QA/QC and health & safety procedures

This position also requires technical experience in TSG communities of practice transportation design.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in civil, transportation, or structural engineering or related discipline. •Professional engineering (PE) license. •12 years of related experience. •Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. •Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities:

Expert knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert knowledge of engineer principles of design. Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations. Basic knowledge of design standards (AASHTO, NACTO, etc.)

Background Check and Drug Testing Information:

Pay Range Minimum:

$131,248

Pay Range Maximum:

$229,694

Additional Compensation:

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
