NDT/NDI Test Engineer Sr

You will be the NDT/NDI Test Engineer Sr for the Special Operations Forces team. Our team is responsible for ensuring parts manufactured or modified are compliant with technical drawing and/or applicable specification requirements. As the NDT/NDI Test Engineer Sr, you will be responsible for using technical expertise in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT) / non-destructive inspection (NDI) to ensure compliance with technical requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing weld inspections in accordance with technical drawings and various American Welding Society (AWS) standards.
  • Acting as a Responsible Level 3 overseeing NDT/NDI and welding certification programs.
  • Ensuring parts manufactured or modified are compliant with technical drawing and/or applicable specification requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Developing and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.

This position supports our Special Operations Forces – Global Logistics Support Services contract, which is the U.S. Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) largest service contract vehicle providing a wide range of tailored logistics, maintenance, and sustainment services.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:

  • NAS 410 or ASNT Level II or III NDT certifications in Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, and Ultrasonic.
  • Thorough understanding of NDT equipment and extensive experience in laboratory and process support testing.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical standards.
  • Willingness / ability to travel for work. Travel requirements vary. Typically, travel is usually a few days to one week duration but could be longer depending upon mission requirements.

Desired Skills:

  • NAS 410 or ASNT Level III NDT certifications in Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Ultrasonic.
  • Candidate willing to achieve Level III NDT certification in Eddy Current Testing as funding permits.
  • Candidate willing to pursue certification in other NDT methods (e.g. Radiography) as funding permits.
  • Certified welding inspector certified through AWS CWI program.
  • Previous experience on SOF GLSS contract.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
