Mechanical Engineer

This is a six-month contract position with a high possibility for extension or direct hire options in 2022. The role involves 50% technical documentation and new product development, including reviewing customer requirements and documenting these in test plans, test results, engineering documents, and safety assessments. The position also includes 20% mechanical design, focusing on creating and modifying 3D drawings using SolidWorks, and 30% stress analysis utilizing ANSYS, with proficiency in hand calculations considered advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Support a project recently won by using legacy and existing technology and features.
• Conduct design and analysis tasks for fluid systems and valves.
• Review customer requirements and document and report on those requirements.
• Create and modify 3D drawings using SolidWorks.
• Perform stress analysis utilizing ANSYS.

Essential Skills:

• 5+ years of experience with mechanical engineering within the aerospace industry.
• Experience designing in SolidWorks, with proficiency in other CAD packages considered if there is some previous SolidWorks experience.
• Must have experience with GD&T.
• Experience with new product development and introduction.
• Experience reviewing customer requirements and providing technical documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bonus for experience with fluid controls and flow, including valves, piping, and ducting systems.
• Experience in aerospace mechanical design.

Work Environment:

The position is 100% remote for the first three months, after which there will be an occasional need to visit the office for test plans and overseeing testing/results. Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $58.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
