Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience in full-stack development, with deep expertise in AWS, SQL, AngularJS, Java, JavaScript, Mongo, and MySQL. This role involves leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and delivering innovative software solutions that align with our strategic goals. Experience in the Provider domain is a strong plus. Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable software applications using modern technologies including AWS, SQL, AngularJS, Java, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Oversee the integration of software components, ensuring seamless functionality, performance, and maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance development culture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support development, deployment, and maintenance processes.
• Implement best practices in coding, testing, and CI/CD to enhance software quality and reliability.
• Monitor and optimize application performance, ensuring scalability and responsiveness across platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operations.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and promote knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to strategic planning of software projects, aligning technical execution with long-term business goals.
• Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards, safeguarding sensitive information.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver software solutions that positively impact society and support the company's mission.

Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in FullStack development
• Demonstrated success in leading software development projects with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
• Experience in the Provider domain is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid model with day shifts.

Applications will be accepted until September 5th, 2025. The annual salary for this position is between $102,600 - $139,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
