Gray Construction is seeking an Electrical Intern to support the Preconstruction Team in the Lexington, KY Office.

Responsibilities:

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  • Support the pre-construction team with proposal efforts.
  • Solicit bids from subcontractors using our web-based platform.
  • Assist in coordinating proposal and bid package information or the coordination of document release. May help coordinate tracking bid status, vendor relations, and meeting minutes.
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of proposal activities.
  • Organizing and saving proposal documents.
  • Calling and engaging with subcontractors during the proposal phase.
  • Writing scopes of work.
  • Responsible for take-offs for assigned divisions of work.
  • Evaluate bids received from subcontractors.
  • Maintain and update the department's unit rate and lead time tracker.
  • Maintain and update the department's proposal processes.
  • Create and maintain departmental electronic files, forms, and brochures.
  • Conduct research and compile statistical reports.
  • Assist in composing and processing routine correspondence.
  • Coordinate and arrange meetings and events, including preparing agendas, reserving, and preparing facilities, and transcription of meeting minutes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Hard worker who has an appetite for learning.
