Assessing risks and identifying work that optimizes safety, reliability, and affordability for the asset class. Collaborates closely with Field Engineering, Compliance, Operations, Operational Support, Construction, and other asset classes to drive alignment and continual improvement of asset integrity of the distribution asset class. Provide centralized support and serve as technical advisor to those responsible for setting strategic goals regarding safety within Asset & Risk Management and the gas operating companies within NiSource. Satisfy current and changing regulatory and compliance requirements through continuous program review and revision. Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain documentation of risk and risk reduction programs for the purpose of the integrity management programs. This is a 12-week summer internship program with tentative dates from May 11, 2026 to August 7, 2026, for students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year in fall 2026. The role is based in Canonsburg, PA. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the reporting location to be eligible.
This position requires a current student of an ABET accredited, four-year engineering program. High importance placed on the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbal and written. High consideration for those candidates with interpersonal skills which are effective in communication with internal and external customers. Desire a quick learner with the willingness to remain flexible in various work assignments. Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Collecting and analyzing data and reviewing records. Successful candidate will start in summer 2026. Safety consciousness required.
Current student of an accredited, four-year Engineering program. Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study. Ability to work 40 hrs/week. Proficiency with PC applications and prefer strong skills with AutoCad and MS Excel & Access. Proven communication skills. Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
