HVAC Service Technician

As an HVAC Service Technician, you will conduct thorough system inspections to diagnose issues and provide accurate, solution-based recommendations. You will proactively generate leads for equipment replacement, partner with Home Comfort Sales Advisors to offer customers the best options for aging or inefficient systems, and identify and sell large-ticket repairs when appropriate. Building rapport with customers, you will explain the health, function, and lifespan of HVAC systems to help them make informed decisions. Delivering a 5-star experience with every appointment is paramount, as is maintaining communication with the office team and following a structured daily schedule. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with policies, while keeping your work vehicle clean and reporting maintenance needs promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive system inspections to diagnose issues.
  • Provide accurate, solution-based recommendations.
  • Generate leads for equipment replacement.
  • Collaborate with Home Comfort Sales Advisors.
  • Identify and sell large-ticket repairs.
  • Build rapport with customers and earn their trust.
  • Explain the health, function, and lifespan of HVAC systems.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the work vehicle and report maintenance needs.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a service technician.
  • Skilled in HVAC repair, sales, maintenance, and installation.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication with customers.
  • Professional presentation and grooming.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Three plus years of experience servicing residential and commercial HVAC systems.
  • EPA & NATE certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Lennox & Carrier equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to follow directions and solve problems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver at least 75 pounds.
  • Valid CA driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.

Work is not conducted in new construction environments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72600.00 - $104240.00/yr. Commission benefits on top of hourly pay.
