The Control Systems Engineer, as part of the Engineering Services department at the GCGV facility, will interface with a diverse team of personnel such as manufacturing plant operations and technical/engineering (Safety, Instrumentation, manufacturing process experts, applications engineers, etc.), to maintain a variety of process control systems including Honeywell Experion, and Windows based workstations and servers.
Deliver day-to-day support for process control systems and infrastructure, including Honeywell EPKS, PLC/SCADA interfaces, Windows, Cisco networks, and related applications to ensure safe and reliable operations. Keep the business team informed about system projects, repairs, and health. Develop and maintain control system documentation, including network architecture. Lead or support system upgrades, migrations, patching, and sustainability improvement projects. Ensure adherence to ExxonMobil standards, including Process Control Practices, Management of Change, documentation, and design review procedures. Collaborate with IT/OT cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance with industrial cybersecurity standards and best practices. Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify and implement control system improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and uptime. Participate in root cause analyses and incident investigations related to control system performance or failures. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians. Collaborate with team members and Communities of Practice (CoP). Communicate effectively in writing (e.g., emails, presentations) and verbally in team settings to represent your work and ideas. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
