FPGA Design Engineer
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer with strong expertise in Verilog and Xilinx Vivado to develop advanced FPGA-based systems for data acquisition, signal processing, and signal generation. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to integrate FPGA subsystems into complex imaging units and deliver high-performance, reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement large, complex FPGA systems using Verilog.
- Utilize Xilinx Vivado for FPGA development, including synthesis, implementation, and debugging.
- Develop FPGA designs for data acquisition, signal processing, and signal generation.
- Create low-level kernel driver software for FPGA device interfaces.
- Build desktop applications that interact with FPGA-based data acquisition systems.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and optical engineers to integrate FPGA subsystems into imaging units.
- Participate in system-level design, testing, and optimization for performance and reliability.
- Work directly with end users to gather and define software requirements.
- Define workflows for quality control and fault analysis in FPGA-based devices.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Verilog.
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing large, complex FPGA designs.
- Expertise in Xilinx Vivado environment.
- Experience with Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale platform.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for low-level device interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in technical environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of project and non-project design flows, hierarchical design flows.
- Advanced timing closure techniques.
- Integration of high-level IP modules (e.g., PCI Express, JESD204B).
- Development of original IP modules using IP Packager.
- Familiarity with Partial Reconfiguration/Dynamic Function eXchange.
- Deep understanding of clocking resources (MMCM/PLL) and I/O interfaces (SelectIO, GTH transceivers).
- Working knowledge of circuit design and board-level communication interfaces (LVDS, SPI, I²C, JESD204B).
- Experience interfacing with high-speed ADC/DAC components.
- Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers).
Work Environment:
Hybrid schedule: 2 days remote per week in Ashburn, VA.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
