We are seeking a talented individual who will commit to the challenges of creating and delivering a culinary-driven, upscale experience within a thoughtfully senior living facility. Hollenbeck Palms is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Los Angeles, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing. We recently opened our new Latitude Bistro, a modern and hospitality-forward dining experience that brings fresh, elevated, and resident-centered service to our community. We are seeking an experienced, inspiring, and hands-on Executive Chef to lead our culinary program and continue enhancing the resident dining experience across all levels of care. Reporting to the Multi-Service General Manager, the Executive Chef is responsible for the overall culinary vision, leadership, and operational execution of the dining program. This role will lead and mentor the culinary team, maintain exceptional culinary standards, and drive innovation throughout the dining program—including menu creativity, seasonal features, special events, and the ongoing evolution of the Latitude Bistro concept. Spanish language skills are helpful and valued in supporting team communication.
What You'll Do
Lead, mentor, train, and inspire the culinary team across IL, AL, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing.
Create and execute menus that reflect resident preferences, nutritional needs, and elevated dining standards.
Continue to grow and enhance the Latitude Bistro with creative offerings, chef-forward experiences, and seasonal specials.
Oversee food production planning, recipe compliance, cost control, and forecasting.
Ensure all kitchens and service areas meet the highest standards of sanitation, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
Actively engage with residents through tastings, feedback sessions, dining committee, and special events.
Partner with the Multi-Service General Manager and leadership team to support a strong hospitality culture.

What You Bring
Have a passion for culinary arts, with a desire for creativity a strong production culinary background, ideally in a healthcare or retail setting.
Are able to develop trust and build strong client relationships while meeting the expectation of the client as well as Sodexo.
Demonstrate experience supervising a culinary team and exceptional human resource and supervisory/management skillset.
3-5 years of Executive Chef level experience in a recognized setting, concept, or company.
Have exceptional professional communication skills.
Possess a hands-on, innovative leadership approach to management.
Have a passion for a high-level customer service and relationship oriented.
Are able to work independently and make sound business decisions within company guidelines.
Have the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Have strong financial acumen and experience managing a food service operations budget.
Are knowledgeable in compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
