Environmental Services Worker will maintain a clean, attractive, and safe hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors through a systematic application of cleaning procedures. Essential duties include maintaining established orderliness, cleaning, and safety standards set by the department. The worker will comply with proper patient room cleaning policies and properly dispose of trash, empty containers, packing boxes, biohazard/medical waste, HIPAA information, biohazard, pharmaceutical, and batteries, among other hospital-generated waste. They will practice infection control standards, scrub, refinish, and clean carpets/chairs in various areas of the facility, dust, mop, and clean public, ancillary, patient, surgical, and office areas, and perform high and low dusting on vertical and horizontal surfaces. The worker will also observe and report items and equipment in need of repair and clean and disinfect all fixtures in public, ancillary, patient, surgical, and office areas of the facility. According to department policy, they will clean, disinfect, and replenish supplies in restrooms in both public and patient areas, remove and replace sharps containers, pharmaceutical, and biohazardous containers, and document performed tasks. The worker will demonstrate behavior that supports the USC University Hospital mission, attend required orientation and training seminars, and demonstrate respect and positive interpersonal skills with patients, clients, the public, managers, co-workers, and a team player. Any additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: + Req 6 - 12 months Customer Service experience in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment OR + Req 6 - 12 months Healthcare Housekeeping, Hotel, or Hospitality experience + Req Ability to read and write Basic English. + Req Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior. + Req Able to function independently and as a member of a team. Preferred Qualifications: + Pref High school or equivalent Required Licenses/Certifications: + Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only) The hourly rate range for this position is $21.00 - $28.92.
