Engineering Technician

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician in Hanahan, SC. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions
  • Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions
  • Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration, and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment
  • Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Engineering Technician I: High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance
  • Engineering Technician II: High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance
  • Engineering Technician III: High School Diploma with five (5) years of related experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance

Required Experience:

  • Ability to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following:
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis
  • Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing, or squatting for extended periods
  • Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, mechanical parts, and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary
  • Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with cable fabrication

Required Clearance:

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance. Active clearances accepted
