Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Control Systems Engineer to provide project and on-site engineering services, including programming, start-up, training, modifications, and troubleshooting on revenue-generating projects. The role involves project management across multiple projects, handling tasks such as quotations, specification, project plan generation, execution, and management, as well as resource and material management. The successful candidate will ensure on-time project performance and profitability while providing independent troubleshooting and training for control panels in a target market.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project and on-site engineering services including programming, start-up, training, modifications, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage multiple projects, including leading teams of contractors and customer personnel.
  • Generate, execute, and manage project plans, quotations, specifications, and schedules.
  • Allocate resources, specify and procure materials, and manage project documentation.
  • Provide independent factory and field troubleshooting and training for control panels.
  • Support control panel products and provide technical support to customers and field engineers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot customer applications remotely or on-site.
  • Offer escalation support from technical support personnel for technical assistance.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience with industrial control support.
  • Experience with high voltage systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Training in mechanical engineering, electronics, and control theory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of UL508A and NEC electrical standards for control panel design and integration.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area requirements.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of a hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. You will be part of a team engineering systems with a diverse range of products in industries such as Heat Treat, Life Science, Food & Beverage, Plastics, and Water. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with a global clientele and engage in the complete mechanical and electrical design of control panels.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
