We're looking for a Behavioral Health Tech to join our Inpatient Psychiatry unit at Waltham, a 12-bed, secure inpatient psychiatric unit. Key responsibilities include providing one-on-one support to patients with a variety of behavioral health needs, closely monitoring and maintaining the safety of patients, observing behaviors and conditions in accordance with established procedures and protocols, aiding with the implementation of safety measures, responding to and assisting with de-escalating acute behavioral episodes, and preventing elopement. You will also be actively monitoring patients and the environment with particular attention to safety concerns, may perform vital signs and assist with Activities of Daily Living as directed by the Registered Nurse, and completing patient care documentation and administrative duties. Under the direction of Registered Nurse, you may assist practitioners performing medical procedures.
Schedule is 8-hour shifts, day/evening rotation, occasional nights, every other weekend and rotating holidays. Minimum qualifications include a HS Diploma or equivalent, BLS (Basic Life Support) within three months of hire, and Welle De-escalation training within six months of hire. Six months of practical experience in a behavioral health or educational setting is preferred.
