The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a board eligible/certified MD or DO for a full-time clinical faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with a focus on our kidney transplant service. Faculty appointments are granted through the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine and the level/rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.

The Nephrology and Hypertension Division, currently ranked #3 in U.S. News & World Report's 2024 edition, uses a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose, treat and manage the care of children and adolescents with the entire spectrum of nephrological, urologic, and hypertensive conditions. We currently encounter over 7,000 outpatients and 7,500 inpatients annually. As a division internationally recognized for clinical, research and educational innovations, we provide our physicians with strong support and mentorship to ensure professional growth and enable them to provide world-class care.

The division provides a full range of modern diagnostic techniques in-house as many clinical assays are run in our own laboratory. The division currently employs 12 clinical MD faculty and 5 clinical nurse practitioners, further supported by a large group of nurses, dieticians, social workers, psychologists, research coordinators, and business administrators. The division currently has 10 fellows in training and has successfully matched all fellowship positions for the last 22 years through an ACGME-approved NIH-funded fellowship program.

Among pediatric institutions, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is the second-highest ranking recipient of research grants from the National Institutes of Health. This gives us the unique opportunity to influence future generations and the care of children, adolescents and young adults.

Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, be certified or eligible for Certification in Pediatric Nephrology, have a willingness to supervise our high acuity inpatient and outpatient service that includes all forms of acute and chronic kidney replacement therapies, and participate in the training of fellows, residents and medical students. We seek individuals with a passion for transplant care, including clinical operations and regulatory aspects.
