Following the acquisition of the successful E&I Switchgear Business by Vertiv there is an opportunity to integrate the Switchgear Service offering from E&I into the wider Vertiv service business. To meet the demand of customers for the installation and service of this offering, we are recruiting experience Field Service Engineers to provide consistent quality and support to customers across the region.

To strengthen our service team, we are looking for switchgear service engineers in the Frankfurt am Main region.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of project site works on LV and MV switchgear panels - Installation, commission, test and handover to client over multiple projects.
  • Investigation of site issues/breakdowns with view to carrying out repairs as necessary.
  • Completion of preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV / MV switchgears.
  • Preparation of all tools, test equipment and site documentation for project/maintenance activities.
  • Communication and interface with clients, sub-contractors and various internal Vertiv departments to ensure timely progress and meet project or contract milestones.
  • Liaise with various internal departments for procurement of any additional materials needed to close out urgent project requirements.
  • Management of site related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by all relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.
  • Responsibility for safe working practices on-site and ensuring all relevant HSE procedures are adhered to.
  • Be willing to undertake varying levels of security clearance & criminal record checking for customer sites that have enhanced security procedures.
  • Attend customer sites across a defined geographical area.
  • Fully participate in an on-call rotation (as defined locally).

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in a site / client facing role.
  • Recognized qualification in an Electrical discipline
  • Experience with dealing with clients/customers in a professional manner.
  • Familiar with all aspects of electrical panel testing & fault finding.
  • Good working knowledge of LV / MV Switchgear and Protection devices.
  • Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety.
  • Familiar with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentation.
  • Experience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance Tests
  • Excellent communicator
  • Fully flexible to work additional hours on request
  • This is a site-based role and majority of work time will be based on-site or travelling.
  • Full driving license.

Desirable:

  • Electrical Background with an HND/HNC, Vocational or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of PC Software
  • Good working knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control Systems
  • Experience in Troubleshooting
  • Time served or equivalent
  • Electrical Trade background would be advantageous.
  • Experience in working within an electrical services environment.

Physical & Environmental Demands

  • An unforeseeable amount of work during afterhours and weekends may occasionally be scheduled with minimal notice
  • Travel + possible works may require an element of overnight stay (hotel)
  • Heavy lifting required (35 kg. )
  • Participate on the 24/7, on call rotation.
  • Travel abroad from time to time.
  • You will be supplied with Company's PPE, which must be always worn while working.
  • Product training is provided.
  • All necessary tooling will be provided, a company car, phone & laptop
