R&D Engineer Assistant

We are looking for an R&D Engineer assistant to support our product development team in the ongoing improvement and creation of busbar trunking products. This role is ideal for someone starting their engineering career who is eager to learn, develop new skills, and gain hands-on experience in a professional R&D environment.

You will provide support with basic design tasks, documentation, and general engineering activities to help ensure projects progress smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow internal processes such as NPDI and Engineering Change
• Help prepare and organize engineering documentation and drawings
• Support prototype builds and simple testing activities
• Gather information from suppliers on components and materials
• Help ensure files and records are kept accurate and up to date
• Support the processing of engineering changes for existing products
• Respond to requests for drawings or information in a timely manner.
• Assist with general administrative tasks within the engineering department.
• Observe product standards and safety requirements as instructed
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas.
• Other duties as required

Qualifications & Skills

• Working toward or recently completed a technical qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
• Interest in product design and development
• Basic familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) is an advantage but not essential.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions
• Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Good communication and organization skills
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
