Thermal Customer Engineer

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time Investment Needed on Each:

  • Respond in a professional manner to all assigned service calls while on duty.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with established company safety policy.
  • Perform all work using good working practice and current codes of practice/legislation relevant to assigned task.
  • Assist in ensuring that the planned maintenance completion rate is maintained at a minimum 90%.
  • Keep scheduling team informed of changes to your schedule and the status of all open jobs.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the customer listing by reporting errors with the site change form.
  • Close tasks in Oracle Mobile Field Service (MFS) daily and weekly paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
  • Create reports using Field DB system and ensure regular synchronization.
  • Report sales or service leads to the proper department via the correct process.
  • Support company vision and management decisions.
  • Use e-mail and other Office based programs to maintain/enhance communications processes.
  • Ensure that all Vertiv processes are followed.
  • Protect all tooling and company property issued.
  • Work as part of the service team and support business needs.
  • Take an active role in the callout rota.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 1 & 2, or equivalent in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
  • City and Guilds 2078 or 2079 in Refrigerant Safe Handling, Subscribed to ACRIB.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Possesses Diploma, Advance/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalents.
  • Previous experience in this role.
  • Must possess attitude with punctuality & communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, presentable and professional at all times.
  • Self-starter, ability to plan effectively, organize, and manage time effectively.
  • Full valid driving license, GDL will be adding advantage.
  • Strong bias on fault finding.
  • Customer service – in potentially stressful situations.
  • Working with safety procedures and protocols.
  • Mechanical and Electronic/Electrical aptitude.
  • Self-motivation, ability to work with minimum supervision and conscientious of work under own initiative.
  • Good understanding and experiencing handling electrical, mechanical and civil on operational scope.
  • Competency in handling with industrial/data center air conditioning system including Precision unit, AHU, Chiller & Cooling Tower system.
  • At least 2-4 year(s) working experience in Engineering Mechanical or equivalent. Experience in Data center maintenance and qualified in air conditioning (NC2) will be advantage.
  • Must possess attitude with punctuality & communication skills.
  • Possess operational job knowledge, standard policies and procedures.
  • Willing to travel, work overtime, working on weekends & standby for breakdown.
  • Experience servicing, repairing and installing conventional and precision air conditioning system.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Previous environmental service experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Self-starter, ability to plan, organize and manage time effectively.
  • Clean valid driving license.
