Technical Support Specialist

CATcard is UVM's one stop shop for all things having to do with our students and staff's UVM Campus Card System. Within the credentials, our students and staff will be able to manage door access, meal plan, CAT $cratch, and much more! As the Technical Support Specialist, you will assist with computer/network and software related support for the campus-wide CATcard program and provide training and operational support to end users. Set door access scheduling and maintain door hardware inventory and track access control projects. Identify, diagnose and assist with resolution of camera software to determine camera problems for Equipment Technicians. Identify and diagnose door control software access issues. Support Equipment Technicians in determining if hardware issues pertain to CATcard or Physical Plant. Assist with software and hardware support for other University departments who utilize the CATcard system. Operate University vehicle to access sites. Assist with the creation of door access schedules and patron groups in CS Gold. Maintain patron access privileges and time schedules for computerized locking/unlocking of facilities. Provide support to the Technicians on the installation of new door equipment for access and schedules. Consult outside vendors as needed to resolve issues and request software enhancements. Monitor data transfers between central university databases (BANNER/PeopleSoft) and CATcard database. Perform resolution of data transfer issues concerning calendars and active patrons. Assist with opening accounts, deposits, and transfers of funds to CATcard account holders. Provide training and instruction to student employees on front of house tasks such as CATcard replacements, adding CAT $cratch funds to accounts and accepting payment for the computer clinic. Perform clerical duties to include answering telephones and greeting customers.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience): Associate's degree in a related area and one to three years of related experience required (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience). Ability to accurately perform detailed record keeping activities required. Valid driver's license and driver's check required. Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure of deadlines and customer service needs required. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of campus card systems desirable. Knowledge of a variety of software (databases, word-processing, spreadsheets, graphics), computer hardware, and Windows and iOS operating systems desirable.

Anticipated Pay Range $23.07-$26.67
