Site Services Facilities Technician

GlobalFoundries\' Fab 9 (Essex, VT) is seeking an experienced, skilled, and motivated Site Services Facilities Technician. This individual will play a key role in executing preventive and corrective maintenance across the GlobalFoundries Essex and Williston campuses, as well as supporting campus improvement projects. This position reports to the Northeast Site Services Manager. This schedule will be a 40 hour/week position Mon - Friday (Starting 7/8am - 3:30/4:30PM), potential for flexibility to cover some weekend days. Essential Responsibilities:

• Follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks
• Perform work activities safely and responsibly in accordance with all FAB9 EHS&S policies
• Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Support and participate in training activities
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders as required
• Perform routine general maintenance tasks safely
• Collaborate with team members to achieve shared goals
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems

Required Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: minimum 2 years of relevant experience in one of the following areas: automotive repair, BOCES, HVAC, aviation, cable installation, computer routing, building maintenance, electrical work, etc.
• Travel: 0-5%
• Language: fluency in English language (both written and verbal)
• Basic reading, writing, and computer navigation skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as needed, and stand for extended periods of time
• Stand for more than 85% of an 8-hour shift (excluding breaks)
• Walk on uneven surfaces for more than 85% of an 8-hour shift
• Lift, pull, and/or carry at least 50 pounds periodically throughout the shift
• Lift equipment and tools during maintenance activities (two-person lift required for items over 50 lbs)
• Manually manipulate hand tools and small hardware for more than 85% of an 8-hour shift.
• Perform physical activities such as climbing ladders, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling for more than 85% of an 8-hour shift
• Remain compliant with OSHA & NIOSH standard CFR 29 1910.134 (clean-shaven) to wear N95 masks or full-face respirators for extended periods (>2 hours)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Associates Degree in Engineering or technical related field
• Experience: 3+ years experience in automotive repair, BOCES, HVAC, aviation, cable installation, computer routing, building maintenance, electrical work, etc.
• Previous experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Familiarity or experience working at the Essex location.
